KPRO tables in DIR

Hello,

  I have a question. Can anyone explain the KPRO tables behind DIRs in the Processes?  What are their roles? Is it ok if we edit them?

Situation:

1. Users file error reports that they can't change status.

2. After checking the DIR and the KPRO(and removing errors from the tables) I am able to solve their issue regarding this changing of status by deleting the errors generated in the KPRO. (i have no example to give you right now).

Only after I delete the generated errors in the KPRO is this possible. Can someone give me a link that details this background process so as to generate a better response to the user that I was able to fix his problem. Maybe I can come up with a best practice as to not have this error at all.

You can get started by reading Knowledge Provider (BC-SRV-KPR) - SAP Library and the linked documents. In order to understand the technical implementation, have a look at ABAP programs DMS_KPRO_CHECK1 and DMS_KPRO_READ.
