How to find retired employees in Talent Search

Hi Experts,

I was asked if it's possible to find retired employees in Talent Search in SAP HCM.

I understand the result of talent search, which a user can see, is defind by the setting of "areas of responsibility" in HRTMC_PPOM.

If a user is resposible for the organization unit then he can see all the employees belongs to that organization unit.(indirectly via positions)

When it comes to retired employees, as they belong to the position "99999999", they are not belongs to any organization unit indirectly.

It results that all the employees who retired already can't be found in Talent Search.

I tried assigning retiered employee to an existing position explicitly during the retire action, but no luck.(I guess after employment status is set to retiree, PD integration is dead for that employee)

Are there any configuration or workaround that make it possible?

Thank you for you help in advance.

Best Regards,
Nao

Thank you so much for your kind assistance, Stephen and Luke!

I understand that if the employement status is NOT "3: Active", employees don't appear in the result with a standard TREX settings and extractor BAdis.

I will dig deeper into TREX and extractor Badis.

But how about the setting of "areas of responsibility" in HRTMC_PPOM? Does it have something to do with the result in terms of searching for retirees? I mean if I configure the TREX and BAdis to extract EEs in employment status "0:Withdrawn" , does all the employee who belong to the position "99999999" will appear in the result?

Best Regards,

Nao

Yes, "not active" will not appear (only Active).

Your search will also be affected by your AOR and general permissions.

What employment status are these (retired) employees in?

If it isn't Active, is this the reason why they aren't returned in searches? (I'm going a little from memory here but I suspect that might be the reason)

is right - the Actives don't usually turn up. You'll need to modify your TREX connectors and extractor BAdIs.
