hello experts

can any one explain me steps of extraction from LIS infostructures onto the BW system

and i want to know what is the meaning of this

" External Hierarchies for the infocube from the legacy r/3 system"

Hi Sharp,

Follow the below navigation steps.

1. Go T.code SBIW at R/3 System

2. Setting for Application Specific Area -> Logistic ->logistic information System ->Connection of Lis information Structure.

3. In new window you need to give the parameter for information structure (select information structure according to your business requirement)

4. First run display setting.

5. Then do Set up LIS Environment here they will create a two tables for that data source to delta update.

6. Then do generate updating.

7. After this do the post processing of data source by using the T.code RSA6.

8. Replicate the data source at BW system side and assign the info source for that data source create info package and do the data loading..

Hi Sharp,

Hierarchies are creating on info object level to get detailed information like interactive reports. Normally R/3 Contains predefined hierarchies for ex. 0PLANT_LKLS_HIER for this thing you have the standard business content object also.

Hope External Hierarchies means you need to create manually on at info object level..
