Hi all!
I have few doubts, because in install guide of NW 7.4 is setup of few directories: for example /sybase/<DBSID>/sapdata_<n> which do not have option configuring when I installing Sybase ASE first. Early, when I installed DB, I didn't have /sybase/<DBSID> install path, but /sybase/data/master.dat.
I found in install guide NW 7.4:
"During the installation of your SAP system, you can specify the number and names of the sapdata directories.
The installer allows to place several data or log devices in one sapdata or saplog folder. You can create
additional sapdata and saplog directories before you start the installer. To distribute database devices, use
separate file systems for the directories."
It means, that first start the NW 7.4 installer, then during process install, prompt me of start install sybabase ase, this same, as in oracle install case? I have not found anything about it in guides...
What is the order of the installation?!
thanks for help
The sapinst for sybase for NW74 does not require an external activity to install the DB (like Oracle runinstaller).
You are able to install NW74 and Sybase in only one step.
In the first phase, when you define the parameters of sapinst, you can specify custom path for the sapdata directory, for sybase datafiles (maybe a dedicated disk).
The sapinst will install all in one step.
