Hi All,

We are planning to migrate exisiting Oracle database to HANA database and we have few exisiting 3rd party system in our environment. We found that two of the 3rd party system are non-unicode.

Please let me know whether HANA DB will support these two 3rd party system post migration.

Thanks,

Preetha Balan

Hi Preetha,
I don't understand completely your question.

Do you have a ABAP-base system on top of Oracle, which is connected to other (3rd party, non-unicode) ABAP systems and you access them via secondary connections or what exactly is your landscape setup?

How do you connect to these systems?

Cheers,

Jasmin

Hi Jasmin,

Need to understand if there would be any compatible issues with the 3rd party systems once we migrate to HANA DB from existing Oracle DB

And also if there are any 3rd party interface(non-unicode) will work the same after migration or needs to be replaced??

Thanks,

Preetha Balan

Hi Preetha,
that depends on
a. which systems you want to access. Is the "3rd party systems" an ABAP-based system?

b. how you want to connect to the systems - via RFC, via secondary DB connections, ODATA?

Sorry, with your current information given, your question cannot be answered.

Cheers,

Hi Jasmin,

Please find the below details:

a. 3rd party systems are not ABAP-based systems (they are non-unicode systems)

b. Let us know all the info related to the all the mentioned connections (RFC, DB Connections and ODATA)

Thanks much,
