Hello guys,
We did a remote client copy which took a very long time because of post-processing.
After investigation, it seems that the BDLS for the table FMBDP (18.000.000 entries) was responsable of this amazing time.
I'm wondering about the consequences if I exlude this table of the BDLS process. Any idea ?
Regards,
Xavier
Hi Xavier,
I am from Basis team and cannot comment on the consequences of excluding this table from Client copy, but I would suggest you the below approach :
* Check with your Functional team(I believe FICO team in this case) to see if there are unwanted entries in table and if Reorg is possible. This might help you to reduce the number of entries in the table.
from SAP note 1021465 - FMBDP: fields REFRYEAR and LOGSYS should always be filled I see that there is possibility of duplicate entries in this table.
* Please follow the discussions and to see if it could help you exclude other large table in BDLS run. Also, consider using the SINGLECOPY option to include this table so that the copy of this table start as soon as you trigger BDLS.
This could reduce the overall run time of the BDLS
* I believe you are already using parallel run for client copy so that the overtime for client copy would also decrease with this option.
* Finally, if none of the options above would help you , I suggest you to log a OSS message to SAP to suggest you on the approach you are planning, while the rest of the community would provide their insight on this.
If you are able to find the answer for your question, please do share the same with us.
Thanks,
Pradeep

Hello Xavier,
I found an interesting note related to the BDLS performance issues:
1638843 - Performance problems running BDLS
Those notes are also useful:
2012158 - Long running of BDLS on specific table(s)
