Hi experts,
I created an InfoCube with multiple dimensions and KPIs. I also created multiple aggregates on the InfoCube (100009, 100007 ...).
I m wondering how I can use these aggregates to get data from the InfoCube using Bex query, MultiProviders, BO Univers...Actually I have 3 questions.
1- While creating a Bex query on top of the InfoCube, how can we specify the aggregate to be used to extract data? How does BW recognize which aggregate to use?
2-While creating a MultiProvider using that InfoCube, how can we specify the aggregate to be used to extrcat data? How does BW recocnize wich aggregate to use?
3-The same question while creating a univers on the top of the InfoCube.
Thank's a lot for your help.
Abdess,
Hi,
It's all done automatically. BW is selecting aggregate basing on query definition, optimization algorithms and maybe some statistics. Try to approach your problem opposite way ie: define an aggregate best suiting your query, containing all of the infoobjects/attributes used in the query. Than check if BW is using this aggregate whlie executing your query.

Hello Abdess,
Based on what characteristics are used in your report system automatically pickup the corresponding aggregate.
The best way to check whether the system is using the aggregate or not is to run RSRT with execute + debug option and use Display aggregate found. So when the report is executed it will tell you which aggregate is getting used
If none of the aggregate meets the requirement it will show the cube name in the aggregate selection

I think it will make sense to use the option Propose from query in aggregates maintenance screen.
If you have query on cube or MP then it becomes easy and clear with such type of aggregate creation.
