Significance of Message Control node in SPRO

Hello All,

When we maintain the error/warning message in the Message control node in SPRO, which are the T-code that will be influenced by this setting.

For Eg: If we have to maintain a error message for costing error in the T-code IW41, i.e while confirmation of maintenance order

             can this be done via the Message control node.

Please suggest.

Hello Arun,

This mainly allows you to change the existing message attributes to

I (information)

W (Warning)

E (Error)

For example: You want to convert a message number of PM area from warning to Error. then you can do it from here, provided that message number is in this list.

Also you can have new Entries from the allowed Application Areas (IW, IM etc) selecting unused MsgNos . But this function is not for Functional people.

If you want to see which are the standard programs using these messages then, use Tcode SE91 give Class and Message no. and click on where-used icon. For example message class IW and MsgNo 197.
