Kindly Advise how to use Planning heuristic SAP_Multi_SCH During the Planning Run , what's the sequence of Steps should I have ?

Hello Rami,

Have you  activated the business function SCM_APO_PPDS_PI?

You can execute  /SAPAPO/CDPS0  Detailed Scheduling Planning Board for Heuristic SAP_MULT_SCH

Hello Rami,

Run transaction /SAPAPO/CDPS0 for the Detailed Scheduling Planning Board.

Select the overall profile SAP001 and planning version 000.

Enter the resource, location, or product in which the orders exist. Choose Execute.

Choose Profiles and select the heuristic profile defined in Customizing. Then choose Copy (Enter) to save the setting.

Select a resource with the orders.

Choose -->  Functions-->   Heuristic --> Multi-Resource Scheduling Heuristic   to run the heuristic.The orders are scheduled in alternative modes, and different sources of supply are chosen after the switch over time.

Hello,

You can execute this Heuristic from/SAPAPO/CDPS0 - Detailed Scheduling Planning Board - Variable View not from /SAPAPO/CDPSB0 - Production Planning Run as per the heuristic profile which should have the heuristic SAP_MULTI_SCH as it is scheduling heuristic not planning.

In /SAPAPO/CDPSB0 -  planning run you can use SAP_REM_001 Multiresource Planning (Equal).

Hi

Some heuristic for Scheduling can be used in PPDS run using /SAPAPO/CDPSB0

APO PPDS run for MRP and CRP in same time , so this's normal to use heuristic for planning and another for scheduling and another for optimization ...etc

...

Hello Rami,

I dont know if you can use this SFW heuristic in /SAPAPO/CDPSB0 - Production Planning Run .

For more information, see the system documentation for the heuristics. To call up the system documentation for a heuristic, in Customizing for Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS), under Maintain Heuristics, select Information for the heuristic.

Hi Rami,

Are you facing any issues for scheduling it in background using /SAPAPO/CDPSB0.  Also I think your steps should be as below

1. Low level code

2. Planning run

3. SAP_MULT_SCH

I dono remember exactly but last time I tried this and results were not as expected.

Kindly follow the following steps in order to execute the heuristics 'SAP_Multi_SCH' using production planning run i.e., using transaction /SAPAPO/CDPSB0

1. You need to have the customizing settings done for the heuristics, this is done in/SAPAPO/CDPSC11

2. Go to transaction /SAPAPO/CDPSB0, enter planning version , time profile and propagation range(you can use SAP provided default time profile and propagation range)

3.Under the tab step 1, select you 'SAP_Multi_SCH' heuristics

4. Under planning objects select 'Products

5. Enter the product and location details in the screen below.

6. Click on execute.

Note: You can as well check the check box for Display logs in order to check the logs.

The heuristics gets executed.

Hi ,

I can't use Finite Requirements Planning , experience has shown that this method can generally lead to serious disadvantages with large data volumes, both in terms of the performance and the quality of the solution. Consequently, SAP has been officially advising against using this “finite MRP run” since Release 4.0 of SAP SCM and now only allows this procedure to be used following consultation with SAP or in very special scenarios

How you use it This heuristic in Planning Run ?

Hi Rami,

Where to use heuristics in the sequence on what you want to achive looking at current sequence

Is only purpose for using this heurisitcs is becuase you are using alternative PDS and want to shift some order to alternative PDS to achive capacity leveling then you can run it just beofre optimization step and try.

You should test it out first. But I will like to listen from you exact business requirement then it would be easy to guide about steps.
