Hello Everyone,

I was Uploading the BOM with the help of data transfer workbench tool.

I faced this error while uploading the last BOM 'Component item tree not found'

whereas the 3 other BOM with same structure get simulated successfully.

anybody knows why this error occurs.

Amey Ballal

Dear Amey,

Please check the Item is inventory item and child item codes are there in Item Master.

And also refer the below thread

Hi,

Parent Item is Inventory item.

In child items three are phantom items and remaining are inventory items.

In DTW error file, error is showing in OITT template but it seems to be correct as per template standard.

Amey.  Been facing the same problem all day.  Tried everything mentioned above, ran some SQL scripts to extract the basic info and also joined, all good at SQL level

Tried o import nee and also update the existing.

But for some reason its as if the top of the tree SKU doesn't exist as far as DTW.

Tried32 and 64bit

Tried extracting the XML and comparing - all OK as far as you can check a hierarchy against a flat structure.

If someone has an answer that doesn't essentially restate the simple original instructions - please let us know.

Hi Mike,

Later I think I found the solution..

In the DTW tool, on the Map Object Fields window the objects should be matched correctly in the target fields.

Sometimes sap do not matches it, you should map and recheck after mapping.

it solved my problem.

Thanks Amey

I did try manually but no luck, I think the error was something to do with too many columns in the spreadsheet declared against what was expected.  I do not want to say its the definite answer, as there were so many other changes

HI

Please find the SAP Note:

Symptom

Use DTW to import a Bill of Materials. The Product No. for the Bill of Materials is an Item with an ItemCode consisting of numerical values and a 'full stop' character in between (e.g. 011.01).

During the import, DTW gives an error:

“Component item tree not found
Application-defined or object-defined error65171”

Cause

FVC (Future Version Candidate)

Solution

Workaround:

You can workaround this issue by using a different ItemCode for the Product No. for the Bill of Materials:

  • Use an ItemCode that is fully numeric (e.g. 01101)
  • Use an ItemCode that contains a letter (e.g. A011.01)
  • Use an ItemCode with a separator that is not a full stop character (e.g. 011-01)

Correction of system behaviour is not feasible in the currently supported versions of SAP Business One. The error has been recorded and is a candidate to be fixed in a future version.

Hello,

Both the files OITT and ITT1 which I am importing don't have decimal between parent item and child item. These are fully numeric codes. Checked on SAP note also it says the same.

Still unable to import BOM.

HI Amey

Try to add the  BOM(which is not uploaded in DTW) manually in SAP to find out the exact issue.

Hi

Manually it is possible to add same BOM in SAP whereas it is only showing error at the time of using DTW tool.
