Hi,
Is there a way to create a trendline based on a measure/key figure directly in Design Studio?
I prefer a non-SDK solution if possible.
My data source is a Bex query, and I am using DS 1.4.
Regards,
Kris
Hi both,
Thanks for the feedback!
We've found a way to calculate this directly in the bex queries using cell definitions etc.
It's a bit tricky, but it's possible.

Hello Kris,
Could you kindly share your solution details? We have a requirement wherein we need to get a trend-line in DS report, but as it's not possible we are trying to get a KF from BW side which can be used to define a trend-line on DS side.
Request you to share details of solution you found.
Thanks!
Hi,
After testing this solution, it was disregarded as the performance impact was tremendous. We then ended up deciding to do this in HANA at a later time.
In regards to the solution, we did this by doing cell-calculations in the BEx queries. If you have two structures.
Columns = Time characteristic with a restriction to a time period and offset
Rows = key figure, Interim trendline calculations, final trendline calculation
The interim and final trendline calculation is then based on the math here:
http://www.clemson.edu/ces/phoenix/tutorials/excel/regression.html
And let X=key figure, and Y=sequential number
Again, this is a bit tricky, but I hope this helps!

Hi Kris - you could also look at using SAP Predictive Analysis 2.0 which has these features "out of the box" - a trial version is coming soon.

Hi Kris,
Creating a trendline inside of Design Studio directly is not possible in the current versions.
