Hello,
We have this scenario:
Org Unit Main
Org Unit A
Org Unit A.1
position 1
position 2
position 3
Org Unit B
Org Unit B.1
position 1
position 2
position 3
The chief over Org Unit B.1 needs to be chief over Org Unit A.1. Is this possible? If so, are there any extra settings that need to be done in order for this to work? Our workflow is failing to find a chief for users assigned to positions in Org Unit A.1. There are relationships setup from the manager of Org Unit B.1 to each position (A002/B002) but I noticed that this same manager does not have a relationship A012 with Org Unit A.1. I am a workflow administrator and I've been asked to find out why it cannot resolve the chief so my OM knowledge is limited.
Thank you in advance,
D. Scott
There are no rules says that we have to maintain it in simple maintenance method only we can maintain any of the interface which support organization management Expert, general, open, action methods only thing required is relationship should be available in HRP1001 table so workflow works accordingly i hope you understand.

Hi Scott,
We have similar req. and it has worked fine.
Could you please check the "Determine Approver" in PTARQ? You can find our the reason and eval. path from this(by debugging)
This sometimes fails due to wrong updates, I would recommend you to check the Chief for the Org. unit in PP01 as well and validates the assignments.

As far i know we can maintain cross organizational unit chief as well maintain A012/B012 for the respective object then it works accordingly.
