Hi,

I've installed the trial version of Crystal Reports, but when I click the 'New Report' icon I get the following message: "Failed to create the Crystal Database Connector."

The same applies for 'File->New->Standard Report' and 'Report Wizard'.

Selecting 'Blank Report' causes the application to hang, then produce a "Crystal Reports has stopped working" message, with the following details Problem Signature:

  Problem Event Name:    APPCRASH

  Application Name:    crw32.exe

  Application Version:    14.1.4.1327

  Application Timestamp:    537bc968

  Fault Module Name:    ntdll.dll

  Fault Module Version:    6.1.7601.18247

  Fault Module Timestamp:    521ea8e7

  Exception Code:    c015000f

  Exception Offset:    00084671

  OS Version:    6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48

  Locale ID:    2057

  Additional Information 1:    0a9e

  Additional Information 3:    0a9e

  Additional Information 4:    0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

Further Info:

OS: Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 (64-bit)

SAP Crystal Reports is the only SAP package I've installed. The version is:

SAP BusinessObjects Crystal Reports 2013 Support Pack 4

  Version 14.1.4.1327

  CR Developer

Clicking 'Log On or Off Server' produces a Data Explorer window with no options to Log On to.

The database I need to connect to is Oracle 12.1.0.1.0, and I've created an Oracle Instant Client 32-bit ODBC Data Source (System DSN) on my machine.

Hi Alex

Make sure the %TEMP% directory has read / write rights. If that does not help, sounds like something did not go right with the install. Consider doing a repair of the install, or a complete uninstall and reinstall. Then make sure to install with local admin privileges.
