Function module extraction - Extract structure

Hi BW gurus

When we define a custom function module for generic extraction, do we have to create a structure as per our custom datasource expectations? And then use this structure in the Function module?? Or after creating the DS, does the structure get created by itself in rs02??

Thanks Dinesh. But how do i maintain the value table for the fields...i dont get the option as it is disabled

Hi Harie,

You can maintain value table while creating Domain/dataelement for the fields. If you are using existing dataelement, then you wont be able to maintain value table. If you double cick the dataelement you can see the underlying domain & value table.

Yes you need to create a structure as per our custom data source when we define a custom function module.
