FM to convert currency

hi everyone...i've got a question to ask...

i've managed to identify 2 FMs that would convert foreign currency to my local currency, as follows:

CONVERT_TO_FOREIGN_CURRENCY
CONVERT_TO_LOCAL_CURRENCY

the first FM is usually used by the other senior ABAPer...whereas the second one i found accidentally...

do they both accomplish the same thing?
