Difference between a webi document owner and author

Hi everybody,

I am trying to understand the difference between a webi  document author and webi document owner. I have read http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/sbo41/en/sbo41sp2_bip_admin_en.pdf (pg 152) and i understand what "owner rights" mean.

But i dont undertand what the purpose of a "document author" is. A document author does not change when you copy paste a document, but the owner changes.

I would like to understand the role of a document author better.

Document author is the BI Launchpad logon of the document Creator.

Document Owner is the BI Launchpad Logon or name of person who last saved the document
