Dear IQ Gurus,
We want to make connection SAP BW system to SYBASE IQ 16.0. Those are on different servers.
Bw
Server : Windows Server 2008
SAP_BW | 731 SP0011 |
------------------------
Sybase IQ
Version 16, SP04
Windows Server 2008
“SQL Anywhere ODBC driver”
I think we should install “SQL Anywhere ODBC driver” on the BW machine, could you please guide me ?
Best Regards
Hi Kemal,
Hope you are doing good.
Nice to hear from you again.
Yes, that is correct. Please see note 1788794 - How to install SQL AnyWhere ODBC driver on client PC which will help you with the installation.
Hope this helps.

Dear Gi-Sung,
I have made configuration related to "Note 1737415 - SAP IQ: Enable remote/secondary connect to SAP IQ"
1- Downloaded and implemented SYBASE IQ ODBC NLS 16.0 to ( /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS00/exe ).
2- The lib_dbsl for SAP ASE (dbsybslib.so/dll) implemented to the standard exe directory AND the instance exe directory.
still same issue :
Testing a Database Connection Defined in DBCON
Could not open connection SYBPROD .
SYBPROD is not defined in DBCON
Regards
Hi
When I have tested, I succeeded to connect to IQ with below steps.
1. Driver and Libarary
- Sybase IQ ODBC Driver/Client for 15.4 and IQ 16.0 (lightweight client)
at http://service.sap.com/patches Note 1951041 - SybaseIQNetClient 16.0 SP03 Release Notes Information
- LibDBSL for Sybase IQ for 7.20/7.21 EXT-UC Kernel (included in the Sybase ASE DB Version) at http://service.sap.com/patches
2. Install the SAP components for Sybase IQ
1) Add the ODBC IQ driver to the SAP Kernel
Unpack the SAR file to a temporary directory and copy the files to the SAP Kernel directory located at /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<nr>/exe
A restart of the SAP System is not necessary and the libraries must have 775 as file permission.
sybase@lt5006: /data/software/sybase/IQ16.0/Note1737415> SAPCAR -xvf _sar\IQCLIENT160SP0x_0.SAR
2)Add the IQ LibDBSL to the SAP Kernel
SAPCAR -xvf _sar\lib_dbsl_xxx-10010165.sar
copy * /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<nr>/exe /C:\usr\sap\NLT\ASCS01\exeC:\usr\sap\NLT\ASCS01\exe

2- The lib_dbsl(lib_dbsl_411-10011372.sar) for SAP ASE (dbsybslib.dll) implemented to the standard exe directory (C:\usr\sap\IBD\DVEBMGS00\exe) AND the instance exe directory(C:\usr\sap\IBD\ASCS01\exe).
What am i missing ???
