Hi All,
I am new to SAP-BW.I tryed to load the data in ODS.After scheduling, all the datas will be available in message queue.Once activating the ODS,the datas available in message queue is moved to active data and the change log table. These two tables contain same datas. There is no difference in these tables.
Why are they using 2 tables(Change Log & Active data). Is there any difference between these two tables.
Hi dear and welcome on board !
The main difference, besides the different scope you can see from the previous answers, it's a technical one: you can see different key fields !
In active tabel you see the keys you defined in the customizing, while in the change log you see request, package and record number !!!
In the active table everything is summarized on the basis of your key fields, while in the change log you will have always the same detail of the request records...(and the reversal ones...look at recordmode field for more detail...)
Hope it helps!
Bye,
Roberto
...and please don't forget to reward the answers...it's THE way to say thanks here !

Hi,
Change log maintains all the status of the records. where as Active table didn't. if you are doing report on ODS, reports pulls the data from change log table.

Hi Antony,
Active table in ODS is used for the full upload of the data where as the Change Log table is used for the Delta upload of the data.
