Unable to delete custom catalog from launchpad designer

Hi,

Unable to delete a custom catalog from launchpad designer.

I dragged this catalog and dropped into the bin to delete and even after assiging the  transport request it was not removed from the launchpad designer.

Even tried giving 'NONE(Local Object)' as transport request.

Kindly help me to solve this issue.

Hi,

have you tried in a different browser?

I'm working with the Launchpad Designer in IE, FF, and Chrome, because of the issues I am running into, which do work in some of the other browsers.

I raised oss for one of my issue, and they mentioned that this fix was done on SP12/ 1.28.5. Not sure if this is released.

Still the issue exists.

My SAPUI5 Library version is 1.26.1

Hi Bharani,

I think above we have pointed out that, 1.26.1 is a lower version and you have to upgrade the ui library version. You should be atleast at 1.26.10, as per this blog.

This blog has clear cut steps on how to download the zip files and install it on your gateway system,

as pointed by :

If the upgrade doesn't solve your issue, kindly raise OSS.

Please provide the User you use to access launchpad admin page, and all the roles assigned to it.

Have you assigned : SAP_UI2_ADMIN_700, SAP_UI2_USER_700 ??

If yes, please give sap_all profile and check if you can delete the catalog. If yes , then the issue is with the role assignment only. You should do a su53 check, for any auth missing.

Mentioned roles and profile were already given and no authorization issues found but still no improvement in deleting the catalog from the launchpad.

Is it possible to delete catalog from backend ?

Hi Bharani,

Please confirm that the catalog was deleted successfully in the Dev. system but you have some issue in the transport objects in the QA system.

For workaround, you can still control it by role assignment to the users. If users do not have the role, they can not access to the catalog.

Actually i am testing only in the DEV system and in that itself i am not able to delete custom catalog created.

Also no custom role created for this custom catalog.to add/remove from the user role.

I have just created a catalog by giving Name and ID and when i click that catalog it keeps on loading and even after deleting it reappears once the launchpad designer is refreshed/reloaded.

Hi Masa,

Please upload a screenshot of http ://<server>:<port>/sap/public/bc/ui5_ui5/index.html.

Also sync the cache described in the  SAP Fiori - SAP Fiori launchpad troubleshooting.

I think this issue does not stop any further activities and you can leave the catalog ID in the Dev system.

Hi Masa,

We are updating SAPUI5 to 1.26.8 as mentioned in the note   2128676 - SAPUI5 upgrade to version 1.26.8

Its been running for more than a day(still running).

Only changes which I can see is, objects are being captured in the TR given while executing the report /UI5/UI5_UPLOAD_PATCH_TO_MIME.

Is it normal to take this much time?. Please let me know if I have missed out something.

To mention the test import, it took nearly one hour and generated a huge list(no errors).

Please look at SAP Fiori LL19 - Steps for updating SAPUI5 libraries.

It takes 1H to 2H depends on your server spec.

I checked the link and I have done the same, except for uploading the zip file for 1.24.6 .

Just wondering, why do we need the patch 1.24.6. As per the note 2128676, we need to download only zip file 1.26.8 and thats what I did.
