Idoc tables cleaning after system refresh

Former Member

Hi all,

We  have done the system refresh from Prod to QA box, we have database of 6.8 TB and observed idoc tables EDI* are huge.

Since the data is copied to Qa systems  can we delete the data in QA systems from these EDIDC and other Idoc tables as cleanup process.

Even BDLS will take long time on these...

Any suggestions...

Thanks,

Subhash.G

HI all,

We have split the BDLS in to 27 parallel process like each for one char A*   and last one exclude A* and Z*

2) Identified bigger tables  and created indexes on client and logyss /Awsys fields

We are able to complete the BDLS for 6.8 TB in 12 hrs exception is long rn on IDOC tables which we are going to exclude them next time.

3) Truncate DBTABLOG/Spool tables...

Thanks,

Hello,

You can also delete IDOCS from WE11.

Refer wiki- http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=255394629

Hi Subhash,

Yes, you can delete the IDOCs in QA which are copied from PRD.

Follow the below links on steps to delete IDOCs

http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/Reprocess+or+Delete+an+Idoc

Considering the DB size mentioned by you I believe this deletion might also run for quite a while.

If you are aware of the IDOC tables on which the conversion is not required, you can exclude them from the BDLS conversion before starting BDLS the below steps:

Select multiple selection button  in the below screen

List the tables to be excluded in conversion

This would save the time on deletion IDOCS.

If you are planning on other alternate ways please do share with us.
