SAP Utilities ISU and CRM - Refresh of Non production systems from Production

Former Member

Hello Friends,

I am working on the System refreshes approach and strategy for SAP Utilities ISU and CRM. Requirement is to Refresh Non production systems from Production database size being 1 TB.

I would like to have your inputs on the tools we have for Refresh. Specially for SAP Utilities industry.

TDMS 4.0 is definitely out there but would be great if you can share some success stories of it.

Gold Client - How is this tool with SAP Utilities ?

Any other tools ?

Thanks

Ravi

Ravi,

Three options as I could see-

(a) TDMS 4.0 as you have already specified. The benefit is it requires no downtime.

(b) Homogeneous/Heterogeneous System Copy. This requires a downtime, but can be optimized, if a DB specific method is followed.

(c) Client Export from Prod and import it into Non-Prod. This requires a downtime in Prod for the export.

Hope it helps..

Thanks,

AB

Thanks Amlan. Appreciate your response.

The steps you mentioned are the obvious ones. I am interested in TDMS for SAP Utilities and its success stories.
