ASE server on OVM

Hello,

I would like to know if anyone is running SAP/Sybase ASE server on OVM(Oracle Virtual Machine), if yes then if any issues encountered running ASE on the Virtual Environment? What version of ASEs are you running on the Virtual OVM environment?

Would OVM support ASE version 12.0.x, 12.5.x and 15.0.3(I know these are EOL) but would like to know if any SAP/Sybase customer is running these versions on OVM>

Would there be any license issues with running these servers in OVM after P2V? I could get the ASE checkout the license, would there be any issues with the license options down the line or with SAP support of these ASEs on OVM?

I would appreciate any feedback.

Ejaj,

OVM is considered a sub-capacity environment for ASE deployments.

As the ASE versions themselves are EOL, they cannot be supported by SAP in that environment regardless, should any issues arise, including license issues, unless an upgrade is performed and the proper licenses obtained.

Please check with your sales representative to confirm this.
