We are planning to refresh our BW on HANA system from prod to test system. We have NLS in place in both the systems & the historical data are archived in Sybase IQ database. If we refresh the BW on HANA system, do we need to refresh the Sybase IQ database also? Is there are documentation related to NLS & Sybase IQ database for system copy scenarios?
Hi ,
I have few asumptions based on your question and aswering based on that
1) You have BW on HANA along with IQ as a production system and now you wanted to create a new BW on HANA with IQ as a test system. After all the process you wanted "BW on HANA with IQ- production" and ""BW on HANA with IQ- Test" running right?
As far as I know to do this, in the production system reload all the archived data to the infoproviders and then take DB copy of the BW on HANA production system and create BW on HANA Test system. Then Connect the BW on HANA test system to IQ and acrchive teh records. Get back to production system and make sure you again rerun the archving process to push the old records back to IQ.
2) You have BW on HANA laong with IQ Prod and now you wanted to create a new BW on HANA with IQ. and after the migartion process you dont need the IQ to be attached to the Old BW on HANA system instead you wanted teh IQ to be attached to teh New BW on HANA system.?
To do this check the presentation in the link http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0a1c423-af74-3110-028c-a0383208b... slide number 11.
Hope thsi helps and anserws your query.
Thanks & Regards
