Material assignment to multiple profit centers

Hi

We are creating a material master for a client and for this purpose we require to assign the material to profit center.

In this client we have two profitability segments and hence there are 2 profit centers in a single plant.

The material A is used to make 2 Products (Finished Goods). Thus a single material code is to be assigned to 2 Profit Centers, but SAP does not offer such a functionality. Please advice what should be done for better reporting?

Hello, you should created an auxiliar profit center for this cases or you can used a sustitution to change the profit center.

Hi Sankalp,

It is not possible to define multiple profit centres for the same material master. If you are using a one material for 2 finished goods. Then at the time of consumption postings against the FG, select the relevant cost centre which has maintained with profit centre, then system will book the consumption to the profit centre accordingly. For 2 finished goods, create 2 material master with 2 profit centres.
