Hi!
The documentation says that the extractor 0EC_PCA_3 has a safety interval of one hour, which means that R/3 records "younger" than one hour are not being picked up.
My first question is: "Why is there this safety interval and why is it one hour?"
We kicked off 0EC_PCA_3 at 15:00. The delta load was missing some records that had been posted at 14:45. At 15:15, I ran RSA3 and it did contain those missing records. My second question is: "Does the safety interval become redundant if there has been another delta load between initial posting time and second delta load time?"
Thanks!
Gerrit
I have not had used this extractor myself but you may be able to see the safety interval in ROOSOURCE. There is an SAP Note - 662055 that talks about timestamp settings for EC-PCA and offers a way to change it. This note is fairly old but may still give you some pointers.
And if I'm not mistaken the BWOM_SAFETY table is only relevant for CO extractors - that's why you may not see any entries there for EC-PCA. I maybe wrong though and am sure someone will correct me if that's the case!

Hi Bhanu,
thanks a lot for your input! That was the information I was looking for. We are using this extractor for reconciliation purposes. That's why up-to-the-minute extraction would be beneficial.
The documentation says:
- it takes some time until the line item is actually fully booked to the database
- that's why there is this security interval
- this time interval can be changed in BWOM2_V_SAFETY
In our system, this table (BWOM2_SAFETY) is empty though. Has anyone got any experiences with this?
I would like to know what (which PCA process) takes so long when a booking is processed after data entry.
How long exactly does this take?
What would be a save safety interval (does it really have to be one hour)?
All hints are more than welcome!
Gerrit

Hi Gerrit,
As far as your question about BWOM2_V_SAFETY: There are only entries here if you have made a change. For any datasource that is missing, like 0EC_PCA_3, it means that no customisation has been made and that the safety interval remains at 1 hour. If you wanted to change it to say 15 minutes, you would need to make an entry here.
Hope this helps...
Hi Gerrit,
You can read SAP's explanation at this link:
