Copy the SP2 Portal File System and then Migrate??

Hello All,

Is it possible to copy the EP6SP2 Portal FileSystem and the SQL Database on the other host and then migrate start the migration process from this host. I mean to create the export file from this new host(where we copied the fileSystem and the DB). Because anyways we have to shut down the portal while migrating, so i think this can be done..

Any ideas.

Vaib

Totally right, I know. I just wanted to clean up the cross post particles

Not really, but check out https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b4e7b090-0201-0010-ada6-b9b... if it may help.

Hope it helps

Hi Vaib,

I've not tested it, but in general I would expect it to work, as I trust the author of this paper

So the only "danger" I see is if maybe something is not documented enough or that some special cases may not have been considered.

I think there are also one or more threads here in the forum about this, just search for "zip portal".

Hope it helps

Detlev
