Basis: Outbound email configuration

Hi all!

I need to configure email notificación en the system. Do i need to follow this guide: SMTP Configuration Guide - SAPconnect (BC-SRV-COM) - SAP Library? My email server is an Exchange Server. Is there any other actions that i need to consider?

Hi Andres,

yes, indeed, this is the basis layer which is used by email scenario. SAPconnect is responsible for sending and also for receiving emails.

What you need to consider is the fact, that NetWeaver does not contain full SMTP server - you need an additional relay SMTP server, which is your Exchange server. You have to enable SMTP port on your Exchange server and configure it in such way, that it will relay e-mails from CRM to your office or outer world.

If you want to also receive emails, then you have to setup relay on your Exchange also for the other direction.
