Using a DM Variable in the Select statement

Hello all,

Presently we do monthly planning for the short term time horizon and yearly planning for the long term horizon. we are using month wise planning for short term yearly planning and .INP years for the long term planning perspective because this is done at a high level.

We want to transfer the last year monthly cumulative value to .INP year, so that whatever % increase the business want to do, they can do and post in the other .INP years for the long term purpose.

We want to put the process that use first will copy the actual value of that particular year value in .INP year and then work on the planning.

In order for the user to copy the value in the Data Manager Package, we want to give the (Ex: 2009.INP year in which the value to be copied and take the value from 2009.TOTAL) so that the values get copied. I have written this sort of a select statement from the select .INP year the system will fetch the .TOTAL values, in order to go into specific year, i am planning to use the Data Manager Variable called YEAR = 2009, so that the system fetch the year 2009.

*SELECT (%VAR2%,"[ID]", TIME,"[LEVEL]"= 'YEAR' AND "[MONTHNUM]"='12' AND "[YEAR]"='$YEAR$')

But if i give the Dynamic variable the script says "Invalid Select Selectment".

But if i give the specific value, the script is getting validated and not showing any error.

Looking forward the valuable suggestion.

Thanks,

Ram
