unable to load data from DS to infocube

Hi there,

I am new to BW and therefore wondering if one of you could help me here. I am trying to load data from a .csv file in my workstation into an infocube. Below are the steps I followed:

1) Created a DS and activated it

2) Created an Info Package to load data from the flat file to DS and it executed successfully and I could see the data in the PSA maintenance for the DS

3) Created an infocube with time dimension as 0calweek

4) created dtp and error dtp and executed it. The data does not load.

Please see attached screenshots. Appreciate your help.

Hi Divya,

Issue A)

1) have you checked the transformation for error as suggested previously.

2) Can you check myself source system is active.

Issue B)

Have you checked RSA3 for data in source.

Hi Divya,

If you are loading data from Flatfile,then why can't you use DSO for loading data.As it is recommonded step incase of flatfile data.First load to DSO from Data source.Then load to infoCube from DSO if required.

Check with the  formula of DATE_TO_WEEK for the transformation of Calday to 0Calweek.

Unit field seems not map InfoObjectTemplate of DataSource,Check it.

For Issue A: The transformation seems to be working correctly because in DTP properties, instead of PSA, if I choose to load directly from the flat file, it is giving me correct calweek in the loaded data for the cube. Only when I load from PSA, it does not load anything. I even tried loading directly from PSA to a DSO and that is also having the same issue. It does not load anything.

For Issue B: I checked in rsa3 and the extraction seems to be having 28 records. But it is not loadng when I create an infopackage for the data source replicated and activated. I also checked the logs for iDocs and I read the message saying "iDocs transferred successfully".

Can someone please help. Appreciate it!

Are you doing self practise or working?

At which server your facing this issue?

Have you done proper transformations/mappings?

How many times you ran dtp?

at PSA--> please share the request screen shot.

at cube level your request was running state.

but at SM37 it showing as scheduled. means it may run as per the date/schedule time.

Have you activated transformations properly?

Hi there,

The transformations are activated properly. Also the dtp has been scheduled immediately. This is for a project as the development is on apo bw dev system. I tried running the dtp again and it says: "Requst 102 is already being processed". Its been 12 hours since I executed the DTP and it still does not show any loads. Attached is the screenshot at PSA for DS. Your help is much appreciated and I am on time crunch. So need this resolved ASAP.

Hi Divya,

I have few questions for you.

1) Is your development system new? ( I could see only 102 request )

2) Have you loaded any data successfully from data source to DSO or cube in BW develoment system.

3) Can you regenerate the transformation program again. ( Extras-> Display Generated Program -> Regenerate the program again and check syntax of the program.

Hi there,

Yes it is a new system and it is on APO BW. This is the first development on this system. In fact, I created a generic DS based on MATKEY table and I transported and activated the DS. But if I use an infopackage, it does not load any data. The only time I am able to load data is in an infocube if I select the DTP properties to read directly from a flat file than from the PSA. Could you please help me here. Below is the summary of what Im trying to achieve.

a) Load data from a flat file from DS to infocube. Loads fine into DS using info package. Does not load from PSA to cube using DTP if I select PSA and Full load as properties in DTP. But loads if I select Full load and Directly from flat file instead of PSA.

b) Created a generic data source to get data from the table /SAPAPO/MATKEY. I successfully created and activated the source. Also transported the source and replicated metadata and also activated the DS in BW. However when I create an info package to load data, it does not load anything.

c) Create a rule in transformation for assigning a constant to an info object. I assigned the rule type as Constant and value as 000 and clicked on Transfer values. But this 000 does not load into the infopackage that is used in the cube. It is just blank.

Any help is much appreciated.

The DTP Debugging screenshot shows an incomplete message. Can you please post the full text from the message... Reason: /BIC/00001.......................

For B: Check if there is any data in ECC.. use rsa3

Hi Divya,

Can you post DTP error message with screen shot it would easy to help, you can find it in details tab, you mentioned it did not loaded data, so it must be failed.

Also here is the transformation logic. The values for 0calweek also seem to look good. I checked it in the time characteristic rules and also clicked on transfer values.

PS: Also this is being built in APO BW

Hi Divya,

As per your screen shots, DTP is in processing, yellow status, so you need to wait for sometime. sometimes it will take time to get complete.
