'Characteristic value description' doesn't change

Former Member

Dear experts,

Please kindly help or point me to the solution. I have been searching community for 2 days now but still no clue.

In Material Master -MM02- Classification tab

I can edit the 'Characteristic Value' like in pic below.

So I use F1 to get 'Characteristic Name'  and check it on CT04.

I found out that there is no value nor description in it.

And I use cl30n to check 'Class' I also found nothing.

Furthermore, when I change in CT04 there is an error 'Inconsistent change to allowed values' appeared

Please tell me is the 'Class' in MM02 is the same in other place?

Why there are no data in other place?

And how to edit it?

Thank you very much and Best Regards,

Charles

CT04 is the template for the characteristic, can be used in numerous classes and hence in countless objects.

In MM01/MM02 you maintain the values for this characteristic object wise (per material)

If you defined allowed values in CT04, then you can pull them via F4 in MM02.

But it is certainly not possible and not logical that a value is flowing back from material master to CT04

As well in CL30N you enter the class and get the all characteristics of this class  like it is defined in CL03, but it is just a search mask, you need to enter a value and execute to find the materials with that value. you can only pull a value if it is maintained as allowed values in CT04.

It would not be logical to read all material descriptions from all classifications into a F4 that is used to search through exact the same content to find a matching object.

Dear Charles,

After passing the value in CT04 kindly tick "Additional Value indicator" and try.

There are two way you can maintain the character value either at Value tab in CT04 or in the transaction CL20N, in your case both are empty it seems, kindly maintain the same and try.
