Hi everyone,

we are experiencing following issue with the phone numbers in Outlook.

this is how is looks in CRM:

and this how it is shown in Outlook:

The issue here is, that when these Information is synchronised with the Iphone, the Sales Representative isn't able to dial this number because of the "x" between the phone number.

How do we solve this problem?

Best regards!

Hello Osman,

as far as I now "x" symbol is used by native outlook as separator to phone extension. So you get this also in case of native outlook contact if you use the popup for phone number details. So this might be addressed to micosoft/outlook support how this should work with smartphones.

As a workaround in dektop connection it is possible to suppress "x" separator when phone numbers are send from crm server to outlook. This could either be done in abap class /CRMGWS/CL_BUPA_UTIL->CONVERT_PHONE_OUTPUT or usage of BADI /CRMGWS/GROUPWARE_SYNC_QUERY. Via this local number + extension would be one string without "x" and so dialing could work.

Hi Michael.

I'm not quite sure about the replacement of the phone extension with a "x".

When I use the popup for phone numbers in native outlook, there is no "x", there is a "-" instead, which is correct and work with telephone software (we use OPENSCAPE).

By the way, we have a German Outlook and we use the German language in CRM.

The "x" is in use for extension in the English speaking area.

So I think this is a bug ... the extension shoud not be replaced in a German Outlook.

Maybe we need a posibility to customize that?

Kind regards,

Frank
