Changes to Report Painter Program 12KST1G

Hi all,

I have created a copy of the program 12KST1G to Z12KST1G.  I have a requirement of adding two new columns to the end of the report.  I have done that.  Now, my problem is I need to restrict what is shown in those columns.  One requirement is that only show information from 2015 and forward.  That is done.  BUT, I need to only show certain cost elements in these columns.  I am editing the form in CJE5 and I created a copy of the report in CJE3.

I've searched around, but have not been able to find an answer.

Is this possible?

Cheers,

Kevin

Hi,

So, because the Cost Elements were assigned to another Category, well, that is not allowed.  I ended up using another view category.  I copied our Actuals column and added in the Period/Year (putting 2015/001 in the From option) and the value category (containing the fields to separate) in the column definition and it worked.

Hope this makes sense.

Cheers,

Kevin

Hello,

what you want that kind of functionality comes under customization but you have already used z version of standard 12KST1G by report painter so why not you take a help from abap team about it.

because restriction part like you want some of Cost Element should be display only out of all 2015 CE.then my assumption is for that some code logic are required to achieve this kind of feature that can be enable by abap team.

Hi Sanjeev,

The reason for me asking the question is no one has any Report Painter experience, and so I don't know what needs to be done.  My report painter experience is very limited, like I haven't touched this for years.  I need to be guided in the right direction to where these changes need to be made.

Cheers,

In CJE5, Double click on the column header and you get into the characteristic selection for that column.

Use Value Category to pick by CE.  You will need to configure value categories or you can have the system create value categories automatically for each cost element.

Hey Ken,

Thanks for this.  This is reassuring.  I have tried this and had to transport to our test client due to lack of data in dev.  I wasn't sure if this would work so looking forward to the test results from the BAs.

I'll let you know how things turn out.

Hey Ken,

What I have found is that the cost elements I want to use are assigned to another View Category using t-code CJVC.  When I'm in CJE5, and looking at the column definition, there is a Key Figure selection at the top of the Element Definition of the column.  Where is that key figure defined?  Are View Categories assigned to this?

Hi Kevin,

Those key figures are not assigned to Value Categories. Those key figures define in what currency you want the report to show the figures.

The cost elements that you want to use are not assigned using tcode CJVC. They are done using OPI2. CJVC is used to do a consistency check of these assignments.

Anyway, you may try creating a new value category and assign the cost elements that you want to consider for your report. Maybe the CJVC traffic light for the "Assigned" subtree might turn from green to yellow. But you can give it a shot.

Make sure you also test the other standard reports to check if you get the correct values in the output.

Alternatively, you can check the exit " EXIT_SAPLPS01_002" that lets you add additional characteristics which you can later choose while defining the logic in the new columns that you create. In your case the additional characteristic could be "Cost Element".

Try it and let us know.
