Main report not passing parameter to a linked subreport

Hello,

I have a main report with 1  subreport (I've made this the simplest now in order to troubleshot).

A field in the main report links (or should link) to the subreport, but when I run it,  keep on getting the prompt "Enter parameter values".

The field in the main report is linked to the subreport using the automatic parameter name in the subreport, and have the "select data in the subreport based on field" checked, and the corresponding field in the subreport (shown in the attachment).

I don't know what else to try, this is a bare bones version of the report, so to make sure nothing else is affecting the problem.

I am using Crystal for VS 2013.

This is a winform application.

Thanks for your help

Cecilia

Hi Cecilia

I'd like you to download the 30 day eval of CR 2013 designer from here:

SME Free Trials | SME Software | SAP

Please see if you can get the report working there. Once you do, see ow that report works in the VS app.

It worked now! I don't know if this made a difference, I will work my ground up from scratch, but I got the bare bones to work, even with a programmatic setting of the data source.

I found a thing that may have been the problem before:

The original report was a pre-existing one I was trying to tweak. I found the field where I was trying to group on, was not being defined in columns of the dataset passed to the report.

As always, Thanks for all your help!
