Hi everybody,

I have a question about a test that a client try to realize in his company.

In ms sql server, for one environment, there are 2 Database :

1) DATABASE : necessary for stock the datas.

2) DATABASE_EXTRA : necessary for audit files, archive files etc..

My client tries to using the environment without the EXTRA. So, He deleted the EXTRA.

But the databse is restoring and he can't see the details of the log.

He tries many times, but still failed.

Do you know why ?

Many thanks in advance.

Jonas

Hi Jonas,

extra database are part of bpc, when you create an appset bpc automatically build the apsset DB and appsetExtra db, you're not allowed to touch it.

If you don't want to use it simply don't use manage activity, audit, etc. and the extra db will not increase.

Hi Roberto,

Yes, Ok so you confirm me that the reason of the daily restauration, it's because we delete an DBExtra that we are not allowed to do, is it ?

Ok, in fact, manage activity and audit are already don't using but the DBextra is still a cost for the client I guess.

Thanks

Hi Jonas,

yes I confirm, if you don't use it db extra use space because it contains a lot of tables, but it will not increase.

Leaving dbextra gives you a possibility in a future to activate it otherwise you want more able to use it.
