Structures not created after activating BP data model

Hello Experts

After activating BP data model (MDG 7.0 - HUB - Sandbox), the structures are not generated automatically in the MDG Hub system.

I have done following setup -

1. Activated all the relevant business functions - Customer + Supplier.

2. Activated services

3. All the roles are properly set up - using SAP_MDGC_MENU_04 role

4. Activated data model - No custom field...standard data model

After activation, I checked the generated structures but there is no entry in the table. Deleted the active version of BP data model and tried again but still facing the same issue.

Any clue on this? Is there any note which I need to implement?

Hi Kiran,

have you already tried to trigger structures generation "manually"?

You can do this on customizing for MDG under General Settings -> Data Modeling -> Generate Data Model-Specific Structures.

Thanks Kumaran...I can generate the MM data model without any issue and the structures are generated. For BP its not working.

One thing I found is that there are 2 business functions activated for BP - Hub and ERP client. Is it due to activating both business functions?

Can you please confirm below

Prerequisites

Business Function

Before you activate the business functions, ensure that you have the administration authorization for MDG. The required authorization objects are delivered with the authorization role SAP_MDG_ADMIN. In transaction PFCG, we recommend creating a copy of this role and assigning the relevant authorization values. For the authorization object USMD_DM Data Model you need to assign the values for the authorization field USMD_MODEL Data Model and the values for the authorization activity ACTVT Activity (for example 01:Create or generate, or 02: Change).

In the Customizing activity Activate Business Functions (transaction SFW5), you have activated the following business functions:

• Master Data Governance, Generic Functions (MDG_FOUNDATION)
• Master Data Governance, Generic Functions 2 (MDG_FOUNDATION_2)
• Master Data Governance, Generic Functions 3 (MDG_FOUNDATION_3)
• Master Data Governance, Generic Functions 7.0 (MDG_FOUNDATION_4)
• Master Data Governance for Business Partner 7.0 (MDG_BUPA_1)

Note

When you activate the MDG_BUPA_1 business function the system activates the BP data model. Before continuing with system configuration, open transaction SFW5 and check if the activation has been completed by choosing  and selecting the corresponding entry with a double click.

Dear Sanjay Shah,

The authorization object USMD DM Data Model was assigned with the proper values - same for the authorization activity.

All necessary Business Functions have been activated accordingly without any Errors or Warnings. In SFW5, the Activation shows up as completed aswell.

The manual triggering of the Structures did not help either.

Furthermore, the Data Model for MM was created without any problems and with all necessary Structures and mappings.

Maybe any other ideas?

Are you getting BP data model in Regenerate Data Model Specfic Structures in IMG node?

Hi Sanjay,

if you mean the "Generate Model Specific Structures" node in IMG, then yes, it shows up in there - I'm not aware of a node which is called "Regenerate [...] Structures".

However, if I use the proper Package and click on "Generate Structures", an Info-Message pops up saying "Data model BP: Definitions of generated structures are consistent" but the Structures remain empty.

Hello experts,

In my case, I managed to solve the issue with the help of an OSS.

Solution:

Manual reactivation of all BC sets:

     - Transaction: SFW_BROWSER

     - Expand the corresponding Business function

     - Switch BC set. Then double click on the BC set

     - activate the BC set also choose Ignore previous activation check box.

Following is an example:

Do this for all necessary business Functions:

Afterwards, activate the BP Data Model again and the structures should be generated, at least in my case - hope this helps!
