"Apply Model Changes to Solution Manager..." failed

Dear SAP colleagues,

first of all I would like to say Hello to everyone since this is my first posting in here 🙂

And to the question:

- we are trying to test PowerDesigner <-> SolutionManager integration

- I developed the simplest test project in SolMan with BizScenario1, BizProcess1, ProcStep1

- the connection seems to work fine because I am able to import the project from SolMan to PowerDesigner successfully

- the problem occurs by exporting it back, i.e. the export step "Apply changes to Solution Manager" fails with the error message "Publish failed." / "The Solution Manager export has failed." (s. attach.)

- for your info, I made a simplest possible change in the model to test the export functionality, i.e. I only updated a Comment field in BizProcess1. Furthermore, merging and resolving conflicts goes through, it seems there is a problem only with saving the changes in SolMan (?)

Any clue to this issue?

Thanks a lot in advance for any hint!

Best regards,

Jacek

This does not seem to be a known issue.  Since the validation step goes through, we can assume the change you make is expected to be compatible with the write back to Solution Manager, and it should be successful.  Because the reverse works, we know the connection itself is OK.

I suspect that something strange has happened, either something specific about what we import back from Solution Manager is created in PowerDesigner in a way that introduces a problem, or that somehow the way that the write back is being done is getting a result we did not expect from Solution Manager.

Bottom line:  This requires some root cause analysis, and is not something simple like a missed setting.  I recommend creating an incident so that support folks can really look into the issue, and help find the root cause.

Thanks David. An incident has been raised already ("Apply Model Changes to Solution Manager..." fails ( 115787 / 2015 ))
