Cannot Remove SAP B1 H Server Tools

Former Member

Hello, when logging into SLD i get a System Error (see screen shot). I'm following the instructions supplied by Duncan Spiedel for removing the SAP B1 H server tools but unfortunately the system keeps requesting a valid SAP HANA Administrator Credential even if the one I'm supplying is correct. Can you please give any suggestion for removing the server tools and re-installing again? Thx. Luigi Silipo

Hi Luigi,

Duncan here

I'm not sure which of my steps you are referencing so I will provide everything here.  The first step is to try and uninstall using uninstall.bin.  This can be found in the SAPBusinessOne directory (I think this is what you are doing based on your screenshots).   You can confirm the SYSTEM password is what you think it by deleting NDB from the HANA studio and adding it back, or creating a copy using IP instead of hostname (or hostname instead of IP) studio will not let you add the same hostname twice.  If the SYSTEM password is different you can use the steps on http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-33097 to reset it.  Once the password is confirmed you can use the steps in note https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1959098 "Initialization fails if the SAP HANA user password contains special characters" to ensure that B1 thinks the password for SYSTEM is what you think it is.  The password syncing steps start with step 5, the earlier steps are not applicable.

If the problem persists after you have confirmed the SYSTEM password you can use the following steps to remove it:

  1. rpm -q -a | grep B1 to confirm Business One is installed
  2. rpm -q -a | grep B1 | xargs rpm -e to remove Business One
  3. Delete the Business One directory
    1. rm -rf /opt/sap/SAPBusinessOne or rm -rf /usr/sap/SAPBusinessOne.  The first was used until 9.1by default.
  4. Reinstall ServerTools

Duncan

Hi Duncan,

Thanks very much for your reply. You were right, I was trying to uninstall SAP BUsiness ONE Server Tools and kept failing due to the password problem.

Due to time reasons I opted to a fresh re-install of the entire server. I've now in my records your suggestion posted in this message....Hope I will not have to test it in the near future .

Thanks anyway for your help.

Regards,

Luigi
