Dear friends,
There is a new collaboration tool Wiki added in SAP NewWeaver Portal 7.3. We want to customize the reports of the wiki pages, and here is the help document provided by SAP:
Configuring Reports on Wiki Activities - Configuring and Managing Wikis in the Portal - SAP Library
Following is a paragraph of the above help document:
Enabling Third-party Reporting Integration
Then I researched for the third party vendor, and found that SAP wiki is based on a third-party-wiki software as a basis, I but I still couldn't find out which company/software is that vendor. Can anyone tell me about that? Thanks very much!
Yours,
David Chan
Hi David,
not familiar with the Wiki or how it works, but you must assume the source is adapted by SAP. So its probably comparable to the 3rd party origin, but you cant rely on provided documentation etc. As far I understood the idea behind the link you provided is to write an own implementation or use 3rd party software to do custom reporting on SAP Wiki. Sorry, I didnt get your point: what exactly is your problem while customizing/integrating this approach?
cheers

Hi Lawrence,
Thanks a lot.
Yes, I would like to use 3rd party software to do custom reporting on SAP wiki. According to the help document, I can write some javascript code to implement reporting customization. But it seems that these javascript code are provided by the 3rd party software which portal wiki is based on. So I would like to found out the name of this 3rd party software, and then maybe I could found some solution about custom reporting step by step.
Thanks again!
Yours,
David
You are welcome. David, I could be wrong, but due the documentation you have provided I dont have the feeling SAP is talking about their own Wiki software as a 3rd party. The point is with 3rd party is meant any other 3rd part companies besides SAP, you can find on the market. Indeed they effective are using JS calls to their servers to track access informations. So the correct question would be in your case: which 3rd party blurring software I can use to do some activity report tracking on SAP Wiki? D'accord?
cheers
Hi Lawrence,
I downloaded a PDF from the following url:
And one paragraph of the PDF says:
The Portal wiki is not a new development. SAP integrated a product from a third-party vendor with this third-party-wiki software as a basis, SAP created a SAP specific wiki which is integrated into SAP NetWeaver Portal. For customers no extra license is necessary, wikis are part of the NW license.
So I thought it was a third-party vendor product. My colleague sent a message to SAP for this question today. I will update you if we get anything new.
Thanks:)
David

You are welcome. I think you are right: yes, Wiki is most likely not a SAP product, and its buyed from a 3rd party company. There is no need for an extra license. But I was probably not clear enough, I wasnt talking about that, rather about the help article you pointed me to. Im assuming they are talking about SAP Wiki blurring resp reporting with a 3rd party software, beside SAP, this is thats written there imho.
cheers
