Dear Experts,
Is it possible that instead of e-mail system could trigger SMS or both SMS and e-mail to the Project Manager's cell phones on budget exceeded notifications?
Which is the easiest approach to do it?
Thanks & Regards
Saurabh

Hello paulo,
Thanks for you comment.
Actually, When I did my Google findings earlier on it, I found some useful info which says about its possibility within SAP which includes SAPCONNECT server settings,SMTP,RZ10/11 parameters settings and it goes on and on...
When I read your blog earlier it gave me very useful points which can be a very nice addition to one of my document:
Coming to the issue, I found a forum @SAP for Mobile which generally deals with such workflow but want to know from Experts experiences if they got such requirement and its resolution before.
Thanks & Regards

Would be great if you share your final findings! I mean SAP solution for SMS as well as where phone numbers are to be maintained, in the user master or in HR IT 0105 SubType CELL.

Sure Paulo. Following things propels me to believe that it can be possible :
1. T-code SCOT- >
2. double-click on address data (@ABC.com.qa). Following screen will appear:
In the above screen, if we could change the "Address Type" from INT (internet mail address) to PAG (pager (SMS) number and then maintain the same in SBWP as shown below:
Then, perhaps we can achieve our desired results . Though there will be some server settings to be done in between to trigger SMS. Its, the way I feel that it can be possible to get SMS instead of email.
Thanks & Regards

I have no doubt that SAP can generate the data in the "required" or standard format, but what is next?
I believe you will need a cell operator to pick it up somehow and process. SMS is not a free service, someone has to pay for it. So, the cell operator must come into the picture and define a data format that can be loaded on their side?!

Yes Paulo. You are right. Its going to be a paid service from a service provider.
