Can't find/see my own catalog in Launchpad

I want to install/config/run my first Fiori App. I have installed all the stuff (Central hub installation). Now I have a problem with the Fiori Launchpad Designer.

I want to use the "Approve Requisitions" App but the package contains some more Apps. Therefore I've done the following things.

  • Create a own catalog
  • Copy the Approve Requisitions App from Catalog SAP_MM_BCG_Buyer_X1 to my own catalog
  • Create a own group
  • Add the app from my own catalog
  • Create a own role in PFCG
  • Add my own catalog and group to the role
  • Assign my user to the role

If I start my Lauchnpad now I see the name of my own group with an empty tile. I would expect to see the App here. If I try to add the App I can't find my own catalog. It isn't visible (empty catalog list).

When I add my user to the predefined role SAP_MM_BCR_BUYER_X1 I get a different result. Now I can see the standard group with all 5 MM Apps but I can also see my own group with this one selected app.

I have no explanation for this. Is there anything I missed during the process mentioned above?

My current solution is copying the standard Fiori catalog X-SAP-UI2-CATALOGPAGE:SAP_MM_BC_Buyer_X1 and removing all apps I don't need. Nevertheless I want to create and use own catalogs. Is there anything I have to do in transaction lpd_cust for that?

You can create new catalogs and groups directly in the FLP designer (click the + button at the bottom). From there you can create tiles for your apps. If you just want to re-use existing SAP fiori apps then just copy the tile config as-is and they will use the floorplans already configured in LPD_CUST.

If however you want to go completely custom, then first you need to create a new floorplan in LPD_CUST. Enter entries for each of your apps (url, component name, etc). Then use this new floorplan in your tiles target mapping (in the FLP designer).

I thought this is only necessary for own apps not for an own catalog with a copied app.

If I create a new custom catalog and add it to the user role I would expect to see it in the available catalogs drop down box in FLP even if it's empty.

Gil, please re-read the first paragraph of my comment. I explained precisely what you need for "own catalog and existing app" as you require.

If you want to add your own apps then use lpd_cust.

Okay, I have an idea. I've only created a reference tile not really a copy. What is the right way to reach my goal?

EDIT: Same result with a completely new tile. Can't see my own catalog.
