Forecast not released from DP to SNP on first day of the release horizon

Dear Experts,

We are releasing forecast from DP to SNP every week on Saturday. We also have maintained daily bucket profile to release it in days for first 180 days.

Now the problem is occurs when the background job for DP to SNP forecast release happens on Satruday. For ex. if on Sat 31st Jan 2015, the job runs, it should release the requirements from Mon i.e 2nd Feb, but it is releasing starting from 3rd Feb and it is skipping Monday.

If we do it manually, then it works correctly. Hence I assume the master data, period split profile is correctly maintained.

Even the calendar has 2nd Feb as working day.

Please let me know if any one of you has ever encountered such issue and any pointers would certainly help.

Thanks.

Hello,

We cannot imagine a job works differently between foreground and background if they are with exactly the same settings.
Are you using /sapapo/mc90 to do the job, both foreground and background?

Hi Lv,

Thanks for your inputs. In our job, both foreground and background, we have an activity and in that we use a release profile to release to SNP. I dont know if  this is same as tcode MC90 as the screens are a bit different.

But yes,we use the same way to release for both foreground and background.

Also, we are checking if there is any background job (something like RLCDEL) that runs weekly on monday and deletes that day's forecast. But this is also not the case as of now.

We have the same issue. As we are sending a monthly forecast to SNP to go to daily buckets, we quickly set up a special profile that goes from Day 2 to Day 28 and avoids the issues at the end of the month. Its a temp work around, that may stay there for a while. I am guessing the issue is time zones between our locations and UTC, but haven't had time to dig into it.

Hello,

Maybe your program is executed using a different variant.

In your case, considering that when you test the release manually it works ok, I would check the variant used in your job.

Go to SM37, identify the background job that was executed on Saturday. Select the job and press Steps. You will see 1 or more programs and variants. Select the line corresponding to the release program, go to the main menu --> Goto --> Variant. Check the starting date.. it should be Feb 2nd.

Kind Regards,

did you used weekly split indicator and put the 100% allocation on day 1 of week?

if this is also maintained.. i would suggest you to check weekly period in period split.. just because of days like 30 and 31 in few months create these issue.

Or create a new time stream with period as per your requirement and implement Change_calender method in /sapapo/SDP_Reldata.

this method allows you to change the name of calender used during release.
