Issue with Post to New material during UD

Former Member

Hello Folks,

I am stuck with a process when trying to post the stock to new material. After entering the results for batch X and doing UD when I go to stock posting screen,

1. I put the quantity in the tab To New material

2. I entered the new material, batch Y is generated automatically and when I press enter to save.

I get the error Deficit of BA Unrestricted-use 35 EA: MATERIAL Plant SLoc BatchX.

Then I checked the stock report and it shows that sufficient quantity is available.

Please assist me in overcoming this issue as I am just not able to close the inspection lot.

Regards,

Raghu

Hi,

If you had carefully looked into the error message, you would have got a bit idea. It say there is deficit for this batch in Unrestricted and in parallel, you basically posting the QI stock out. Does that Ring a Bell !!

Coming to error, Check with your configuration settings for Inventory posting. I doubt you have maintained 309 for the New material under QI stock. If yes, change it to 321 and repeat the process. You'll be able to post it to new material from the same screen itself.

Follow the path QCC0>Quality Inspection> Inspection lot completion> Define inventory postings.

Hello Nitin, I tried your way and yes it was 309 in the settings. This is being done for the first time so never checked the configuration. My issue is solved now. Just tell me one more thing that why 309 is there when it doesn't work. It should be 321 default.

No. Default value has to be 321. It was changed to 309 (in your system). Simple reason is that, 309 if maintained, system will always throw the same error. So there is no logic behind keeping 309 as default value.
