Transporting DataSources

Hello,

When activating DataSources in the development system I always added them to a transport request.

I have just transported that request to the test system but none of the DataSources seem to have been created in test.

I don't believe that I should have to do anything else but I haven't done this for a while.

Any ideas?

I have replicated the DataSources.

Hi Stuart,

Did you try importing the same request to the QA system to get the required datasources?

Hope it helps!!!!

Amit

Yes. I have imported the transport request into the test system.

It's strange. For example, 0MATERIAL_ATTR is assigned to an InfoSource, but 0MATERIAL_TEXT is not, yet they were both in the same transport.

hi,

try to expand the request and change 'datasource (active version' if 0material_text and transfer stucture '0MATERIAL_TEXT_xx' is there ? if not so try from dev system choose 0material again with 'in dataflow before' and make sure 'transfer rules' is marked and following transfer rules there is datasource '0material_text' and transfer structure are also marked.

hope this helps.

Hi,

Did you checked the request before transporting to another system wether it is having 0MATERIAL_ATTR/TEXT objects? You can create a new request for missing objects and transport it to test system. hope this helps.

I have made a mistake in the question!

The DataSources have been transported and replicated into the test system. the problem is that the assignment of datasources to infosources has not taken place in the test BW system.

Some datasources are assigned but some are not. Does anybody know how I can transport the InfoSource assignments from the dev to the test system?

hi,

check the steps i mentioned before,

0material is the infoobject, you won't see 'infosource' for master data 'direct update' infosource in transport connection, so make sure the datasource and the transfer structure are included in transport request.

hope this helps.

The datasource is in the transport request, however the import into the test system is failing because:

Mapping between data source 0BPARTNER_ATTR and source system CRMCLNT200 is inconsistent

Message no. RSAOLTP380

I have looked at RSA5 in both systems and the datasource is identical. Any ideas what the problem might be?

Additional info....

The InfoObject has been created in the test system but the version is New, I was expecting Active. Also, there is no SID table (I assume this would be created when the InfoObject is activated).

If I try to manually activate the InfoObject I am told that it is locked and cannot be edited.

hi,

please check oss note 606437 and 360951

Symptom

The following error occurs when you activate hierarchy transfer rules for a file source system:

RSAOLTP 380: Mapping between data source &1 and source system &2 is inconsistent

A dialog box with messages is displayed, indicating that various fields are not delivered by the DataSource:

RSAOLTP 007:

Field &1 will not be delivered from DataSource &2 in source system &3

Reason and Prerequisites

This problem is caused by a program error. --

Solution

You can solve the problem in one of the following ways, depending on the release of your BW system:

BW 3.0B

Import Support Package 12 for 3.0B (BW 3.0B Patch 12 or SAPKW30B12) into your BW system. This Support Package will be available when note 523249 with the short text "SAPBWNews BW 3.0B Support Package 12", which describes this Support Package in more detail, is released for customers.

BW 3.1 Content

Import Support Package 6 for 3.1 Content (BW 3.10 Patch 06 or SAPKW31006) into your BW system. This Support Package will be available when note 539827 with the short text "SAPBWNews BW 3.1C Support Package 06" is released for customers.

To provide information in advance, the notes mentioned above may be available before the Support Packages are released. In this case, the short texts will still contain the words "preliminary version".

For more information on BW Support Packages, see note 110934.

A.H.P.,

Thanks for your help.

We are on 3.5 so note 606347 is not relevant.

note 360951 suggests that there is a problem with the datasources in the source system but I have checked them and they look fine!

Do you know where I can find out what is locking the InfoObject and stopping me from activating it manually?

hi,

perhaps number range problem also,

try rsrv or run program RSDG_OBJNUMG_CREATE_INTERVAL

The answer was to make /BI0/ and /BIC/ number ranges modifiable in SE03.

There is an OSS note for it.
