We have a sap web dispatcher version  720  installed  on a server windows 2008.

We would like to clone it at level of OS ( clone of the server ) .

After we would like to rename the instance on the clone server.

The instance here you mean the SAP WebDispatcher?

Yes it is possible. You will need to recreate the WebDispatcher service and modify the registry the entry with the correct name and also adapt the WebDispatcher profile.

Just curious to know, what are you trying to achieve by doing this?

Cheers

Dear Reagan Benjamin,

In the past we created only one web dispatcher (for route to SAP Development  and  SAP production ) .

We want to separated these accesses for security reasons and have a sap web  dispatcher development to test the installation of update paches before going to production environment.

Best Regards.

I would reinstall the web dispatcher on a new server.

It's very simple.

Then I would adjust the profiles according to the original server.
