Hi,
We have two systems connected via RFC from diff. landscape i.e. from SCM Dev. to ERP Dev. system.
RFC maintain in SCM Dev has user mainatined from ERP Dev. system.
Question is
Prasad(SCM colleague) runs a report in SCM Dev. via which he gets connected to ERP but it prompts for Remote logon. This is due a service user maintained in RFC.
I also checked the RFC Remote logon and it ask me the same.
Prasad needs to get rid of this Remote logon.
How can it be achieved?
-Should i make changes in RFC Logon security to "Current user"?
-I also noticed that the RFC user is locked in ERP Dev. system. Can this be the reason for the Remote logon screen poping up to the the User?
- Do i need to maintain some batch user? How can i do this?
Help.
Regards,
Trever
Hi Trev ,
Is the RFC user maintained in the ERP destination ( SM59 in SCM ) locked in ERP .
You can test this from SM59 IN SCM ,( Utilities -> test -> authorization test .)
If thats the case please unlock the user id in ERP and set the correct password in SM59 ->ERP system conection ->logon security .
Kindly close your forums once they are answered
Thanks ,
Manu

Hi Trev ,
If the RFC user is correctly maintained and test connection works the remote login screen swill not pop up ( Qn 2 )
If you set the current user the user should exist in both the systems ( ERP and SCM ) with the required authorizations. ( Qn 1 )
reg Qn 3 : whether it needs to ba a batch user . Did u mean 'System user' . This depends on what the developer/Functional/ Security policies in your/client systems .
Thanks ,
Manu
Hi Trev,
The prompt for logon is because the RFC user was locked in the target system.
Best practise is to use user type service in RFC.
