SAP 'Master' PIR

Hi,

I am new to the site and have a specific question.

We currently have multiple plants and multiple materials. Currently, these materials all have individual PIRs. Therefore, we may have the same material across all of our plants, but it will have a different material number.

(E.g. a Pen in Plant A is material PA-1234, yet the same Pen in PlantB is material PB-1234 - they are both purchased from the same Vendor @ the same cost)

When we source the material, we will updated the particular materials PIR.

(E.g. we update PA-1234 and new cost is £10, but PB-1234 stays at old cost of £9)

Therefore, my question is, can we create a Master PIR and assign this to different plants and different material numbers. Then the following can occur

(E.g. we update PA-1234 and new cost if £10; PB-1234 (and all other attached materials) update to £10 automatically/during MRP)

So, effectively 1 PIR which feeds into multiple Materials.

Hopefully this makes sense. Could be a simple answer, I am hoping it is in the initial setup as we are introducing a new version of SAP and want to improve processes within the system from the base implementation.
