Portal Drive - SP15 KM UI Feature not working

Former Member

We've recently installed SP15 in our sandbox environment (from SP14). One of the features we are currently testing is the KM UI command for users to map to Portal Drive.

Unfortunately, the documentation is rather slim on this new feature. It tells you:

"By default, the UI command is not visible in any iView. In order for users to be able to use the command, you must add the mount_PortalDrive user interface command to the corresponding command group in the KM UI configuration."

I added the "mount_PortalDrive" UI Command to the correct command group and it's not showing up. I even restarted our sandbox environment and still nothing.

Any ideas as to why this is happening? Did I miss a step some where? Thanks.

Hi Shaohao,

what IS the correct command group?

If you add it to the AdminResourceCommandGroup, then you should have it in the contextmenu of folders when you are using the KM Navigation Iview with the AdminExplorer.

A restart is not necessarily.

If it's not there, turn on the UI debugging settings and check that you are using the AdminExplorerLayoutSet and no errors come up.

Also you can check the default.trc for any errors.

Hope this helps,

Robert

The correct command group in our case is a custom group we created. This isn't the issue, I'm 100% sure that I have the correct group.

I will use the UI debugging settings and check the logs to see if there are any errors.

Thanks.

EDIT

It's working now. I think it was due to some faulty SP15 component that was having a conflict. After installing the SP14 counterpart, it's now working.

Hi,

I just tested it on my SP15 installation, "works like a charme". No problems, no conflicts.

Hope it helps

Hi Wu,

check the default.X.trc logs if there can be seen any exceptions in correlation with this command. If not, consider opening an OSS message. I have my SP15 installation not running at the moment, and the installations at hand are SP14, so I cannot check if it works for me, sorry.

Hope it helps nevertheless
