    Hi Bruce,

I ran into something similar a couple of days ago. The problem is I'm guessing MS Office is 64 bit where Crystal is 32 bit so Crystal won't be able to connect to your Excel file because of that.

I've been able to get around this by installing the 32 bit Access 2010 engine. The key though is to install it from a command line with the /passive switch. If you install if by running the EXE it will fail because it checks to see if the 64 bit Office is installed. Running the install form a command line for some reason bypasses this check and installs the engine fine.

You can download the engine here:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255

Make sure you open a Command window as Administrator and you should be fine. This only works with the Access 2010 engine, the 2013 didn't work.

    Check the solution here:

    Good luck,

    Brian
