SAP Work Manager 6.2 GIS/Location tab activation on Android devices

Former Member

Hi;

I am working on a SAP Work Manager 6.2 implementation. I would like to find out, besides the guide for activating GIS on a WPF client (SAP Note: 2071498), is there any other documentation out there that outlines/hints how the Locations tab/GIS can be activated or made to render on Android devices? I am running android version 4.2.2. Our environment is SMP 3.0 SP5.

Any hints direction wise would be very much appreciated.

Thank and Regards;

Hi Ndlovu,

Have you checked the "SAP EAM and service mobile app SDK 1.0 installation guide"? You can download this guide from here:

http://service.sap.com/instguides -> SAP Mobile -> SAP EAM and service mobile app SDK.

Cheers,

Abhinav

Sizo,

You will need to compile an android client that includes the necessary ESRI ArcGIS libraries and the SAP EAM and Service Mobile SDK Open UI control in order for the maps to display.   This in turn assumes you have setup and configured everything to download the geometry along with your work orders.  (Config Panel changes, Geolocation services mapping, mapping table population).

Hi Bill;

Thanks for the response, please advise, which versions are used for SAP Work Manager 6.2 i.e.

1. ArcGIS sdk

2. Mobile Apps Open UI SDK: On this one I can only locate the 1.0 version

Thanks and Regards;

For Work Manager 6.2,

1. ArcGIS for Andorid 10.2.3

2. SAP EAM and Service Mobile App SDK 1.0

The Mobile Apps Open UI SDK is for WM 6.1 and was renamed to SAP EAM and Service Mobile Apps SDK 1.0 as a standalone component when WM 6.2 and SM 4.2 were released since the same component is used in both.

Hi Bill;

Thanks for the help. I cannot locate the "SAP EAM and Service Mobile Apps SDK 1.0" software in the SAP Market Place, under E". Where could I download this from? Do you perhaps have a link that I could use?

I'm sure this is related to the app crashing issue that I posted under this discussion:

Thanks and Regards;

It is on the SAP Marketplace under SAP EAM MOBILE APP SDK.
