Account cat P shows the stock after GR

Hello,

I have created PO with account assignment category P and when I did GR i can see the stock in MMBE i thought that there should not be stock visible when using P but Q only?

Could you please explain if I am wrong.

Are you sure that the stock was not there before the GR ? I doubt the stock you are seeing, it was there before the GR.

In OME9, what is the 'Consumption posting' indicator showing ? Have you made any changes for the account assignment category ?

I did not do any changes in OME9. The Consumption posting  is V. I did example from begining so I am sure that there was no stock before.

What I found out is that when i did use different material type the stock is not updated and when I do GR system is not asking for storage location, whereas for material type Z* I have to enter storage location.

Could it be some configuration of material type?

Your material is probably setup like a UNBW material, quantity update, no value update. Check in OMS2

the account assignment category explains whether it is plain project stock (P) or project make to order stock (Q)

The project definition controls whether this stock is inventory managed or not.

But why i can see stock for plain project stock?

I found out is that when i did use different material type the stock is not updated and when I do GR system is not asking for storage location, whereas for material type Z* I have to enter storage location and stock is updated.
